Ann Cecilie Bergene holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Oslo and works as a senior researcher at the Work Research Institute (WRI) in Oslo. Her research interests include trade union strategies, labour relations, workers’ solidarity and working conditions. Her PhD dissertation was on trade union strategies in three industrial sectors, focusing explicitly on the scaling of union strategies and action, and the difference space makes. She is also co-editor of the anthology Missing Links in Labour Geography. She is project leader of a three-year research project on temporary agency work financed by the Research Council of Norway. At CAS she will be analysing the strategies the global union federations in relation to temporary work agencies.
